Arsenal are among the teams that have expressed interest. But in the end Dortmund was the winner when spending £ 22 million to recruit Bellingham in the summer of 2020.

Francis Cagigao has spoken out about why Arsenal could not recruit Bellingham in the past.

“I saw Bellingham for the first time when he was 16 years old. I wanted to sign him for Arsenal, but he was already too expensive."

Bellingham is being linked with a move to the Premier League. Liverpool and Man United are two teams interested in this player.

Bellingham isn't the only star Arsenal have missed out on over the years. Cagigao also shared more about Arsenal's efforts to recruit Barca youth training legends in the past.

“Messi's status is not regulated and it is impossible to obtain a work permit for him in the UK. We had a few meetings with Horacio Gaggioli, Messi's agent at the time, but it was impossible. The Pique deal also didn't go through because of some complicated bureaucratic issues. In the end, we signed Cesc Fabregas from that great youth squad of Barca."
