Right before the match against MU, the midfielder shared that he was a victim of "false promises" in his final year at Man Utd. Lingard was also not satisfied when he had to leave MU in a "no trumpet no drum" style.

His first return to Old Trafford as Lingard's rival also ended in a forgettable manner. Nottingham Forest lost 0-3 and the midfielder wearing the number 11 shirt could not play the whole match. In the 53rd minute, Lingard was injured and had to leave the field to make way for Lewis O'Brien.
On the way to leave the field, MU fans showed their affection for Lingard with applause. Responding to the love of Man Utd fans, the 30-year-old midfielder also clapped and expressed his gratitude. At the end of the game, Lingard lingered on the pitch to swap shirts with his old teammate Marcus Rashford. And yet, when out at Old Trafford, Lingard also went to chat with a young MU fan.

MU's Twitter page also sent Lingard's greetings later: "It's nice to see you again. Wish Lingard well for the rest of the season. " As can be seen, Lingard has finally received the attention that he has. deserves to be received after the contribution to MU.
There is no word yet on Lingard's injury. In the event that the midfielder has to miss the game, it will be a big challenge for Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season.
